Sažetak | U ovom radu istraživale su se odabrane vrste roda Iris: Iris illyrica Tomm. i Iris pseudopallida Trinajstić. Biljna vrsta I. illyrica skupljena je u Zatonu (Šibenik), a vrsta I. pseudopallida u Topićima (Baška Voda).
Listovi vrste I. pseudopallida sadrže 13,29 mg EGK/g SBM polifenola i 4,20 mg EK/g SBM flavonoida, a podanci 30,94 mg EGK/g SBM polifenola i 4,20 mg EK/g SBM flavonoida.
U listovima vrste I. illyrica iznosi 20,16 mg EGK/g SBM, a u podancima 8,80 mg EGK/g SBM. Antioksidativni učinak listova vrste I. pseudopallida iznosi 4,21 mg EGK/g SBM, a podanaka 11,23 mg EGK/g SBM. |
Sažetak (engleski) | In this thesis research was conducted on selected species of the genus Iris: Iris illyrica Tomm. and Iris pseudopallida Trinajstić. I. illyrica was collected in Zaton (Šibenik) and I. pseudopallida in Topići (Baška Voda).
Quantities of polyphenols and flavonoids were determined by UV-VIS spectrophotometric methods. Antioxidant activity was determined by the same method. The dried leaves and rhizomes of mentioned species were used as samples. Total polyphenols content was expressed as milligrams of gallic acid equivalent per gram of dry plant material (mg GAE/g DPM), and total flavonoids content as milligrams of quercetin equivalent per gram of dry plant material (mg QE/g DPM). In leaves of I. illyrica there was 40.89 mg GAE/g DPM of polyphenols and 22.03 mg QE/g DPM of flavonoids. In rhizomes of same species there was 31.64 mg GAE/g DPM of polyphenols and 10.93 mg QE/g DPM flavonoids. Leaves of I. pseudopallida contain 13.29 mg GAE/g DPM of polyphenols and 4.20 mg QE/g DPM of flavonoids, and rhizomes contain 30.94 mg GAE/g DPM of polyphenols and 4.20 mg QE/g DPM of flavonoids.
Results of antioxidant activity were expressed as milligrams of gallic acid equivalent per gram of dry plant material (mg GAE/g DPM). In leaves of I. illyrica antioxidant activity is 20.16 mg GAE/g DPM and in rhizomes 8.80 mg GAE/g DPM. Antioxidant activity of I. pseudopallida leaves is 4.21 mg GAE/g DPM and of rhizomes 11.23 mg GAE/g DPM. There is correlation between total polyphenols and flavonoids content and antioxidant activity. The higher the content od polyphenols and flavonoids, the greater antioxidant effect. |
