This paper is based on the methodological approach to landscape analysis from three basic aspects (landscape structure, function, and changes/development). The primary goal of the paper is the analysis of the landscape, developmental processes and the associated types of the Central Lika landscape. For this purpose, a large number of methods has been employed (e.g. the GIS model, complex statistical methods), contained in the GIS model of landscape analysis and GIS model of landscape developmental analysis. Moreover, the following analyses have been conducted: a demographic analysis, i.e. the analysis of the census data, the analysis of results collected by the questionnaire on a sample of subjects, a correlation analysis of demographic-economic variables and land cover/land use variables, and field observation. The most important findings presented in the paper are that the dominant landscape types found in Central Lika landscape structure are the types indicating extensification of land use, whereas the types which indicate intensification of land use are represented to a very small degree; and that the dominant developmental type/process is Stagnation, whereas other developmental types/processes are represented in a very small degree (Vegetation succession, Agrarianisation, Vegetation degradation and Construction).
