Tumors are formed by the transformation of cells into tumor cells, in the background of which are genes involved in the regulation of proliferation, differentiation and survival. In this way, ten features are developed, specific traits that are not characteristic of healthy cells, and which give the tumor a selective advantage over them. In addition to differing from healthy tissue, tumor clusters also differ from each other. The tumor, as a complex formation formed from originally healthy tissue, shares with it other common features and common features of metabolism. However, the tumor also develops some of its metabolic features which are presented through this seminar paper. Among them, the fundamental feature is the Warburg effect and its benefits for a tumor and tumor cells, and then the supply of energy through alternative methods of obtaining metabolites and providing raw materials for specific tumor needs through its own biosynthesis. A brief overview of possible therapies focused on the steps and substrates of tumor metabolism is also given. One of the ways to find and design the most effective therapy with as few negative consequences as possible is certainly the research of the metabolic characteristics of tumors and therapies that target these characteristics.
