Since linear programming represents problem of finding minimum or maximum of alinear function on set defined by linear limitations, there is a wide range of areas in which linear programming procedures and methods are used today.Reason for this isthat with these procedures and methods can be reached the common goal for the most of the companies – achieving optimal consumption of resources with achieving optimal quality of the product. Aim and purpose of this final paper was to point wide usage of linear programming that can be achieved on almost all fields of human activity, what is described in literature that was studied in process of writing this final paper.In order to understand better the essence of this paper, first part deals with the basic concepts of linear programming through systems of lineal equations’ with two variables, where the best way for resolving such system is to represent the solution with system graph.Along with the historical development, it is presented also the general application of linear programming. For example, in the field of economics can achieve best machine settings, maximum income and etc with minimizing the costs.Finally, methods of resolving problems of linear programming are emphasized. The most well-known are simplex method and graphic method whose application is developed in fields of nutrition – where the most common problem is how to achieve the best structure of something with the lowest possible price, production – where is processed the problem of maximum usage of working capacity of the machines and transportation – where is shown example when there are two starting points and three destinations
