The aim of this study was to identify differences in social anxiety of young people, as well as differences in satisfaction with the community of young people with regard to their demographic characteristics. It also sought to establish a link between social anxiety and satisfaction with the community. The study involved 102 young people, males and females, from different parts of the city of Zagreb. The measurement instruments used in this study are the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale, the Fear Questionnaire, the Neighborhood Experience Questionnaire, the Neighborhood Satisfaction Questionnaire, and the Neighborhood Relations Questionnaire. It has been shown that there is a statistically significant difference in anxiety when experiencing different feelings (emotions) between young males and females, with it being greater in young females. Also, it was shown that there is a statistically significant difference between young males and females in the disorganization of the neighborhood, with it being greater in young females. It turned out that there is a statistically significant difference among young people of different employment status in the assessment of satisfaction with the neighborhood, with students and employees having higher satisfaction with the neighborhood than the unemployed. Furthermore, a statistically significant difference was found among young people of different employment status in the assessment of neighborhood disorganization, with the unemployed and students recognizing neighborhood disorganization more, compared to employed. It has been found that there is a correlation between social anxiety, avoiding situations that can cause social anxiety and anxiety when experiencing different feelings (emotions) of young people.
