The purpose of this thesis is to light up the model of charity, which was throughout history until today presented in a negative context as obsolete and inefficient compared to people with disabilities. This thesis presents the historical context of the model of charity from ancient times to the present, meaning of charity model from today's religious perspective and from the perspective of social work. Great attention was paid to the role of charity in various aspects of life of people with disabilities in the pastoral work, the family as the basis of charity, social work in the spirit of charity through the process of empowerment. The process of charity continues to be implemented in schools with the major role of teachers, promotion through the media and by allowing work to people with disabilities as a chance to express their employers' mercy. Every man is called to live the expression of charity and mostly through volunteer work and return to communion. Although met with a lot barriers, charity has found its way to continue to be present in all spheres of social life and especially in the lives of people with disabilities, mostly through its synonyms such as altruism, mercy and philanthropy.
