The task of this final work can be divided into two parts or into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the final work presents a basic description of the characteristics and division of machine tools with special reference to milling machines and machining centers. The theoretical part also shows a importance of additive manufacturing and compares it to conventional machining. At the very end of the theoretical part, a brief description of Darrieus wind turbine is given. The practical part of final work consisted of making blades for wind turbines using additive manufacturing methods and milling process. The blade prototype was made using FDM technology, while the final blades were made using the PolyJet process. As a prerequisite for the second part of the practical part of the work, it was necessary to design a technological procedure for making a blades and to create an NC program with Mastercam software for managing the Heidenhain control unit. After a virtual check of the NC programs obtained, the fixturing device was designed to make physical blades using a three-axis CNC milling machine.
