The system created in this paper enables vehicles to behave like one swarm at launch. As a swarm, one vehicle follows the behaviour of another vehicle and imitates it. Swarm in which one vehicle does the same actions as another vehicle, can be considered synchronous if the time between imitation is extremely short. The behaviour that resembles that of a synchronous swarm of vehicles is achieved in this paper by combining several types of communication methods such as infrared communication and communication using Internet protocol. For the purpose of this paper, a new infrared protocol was created which has method for detection of transmission errors. In addition to these communication methods, the paper also elaborates some alternative solutions, as well as new short-range communication methods that will be available in the future. Protocol for part of communication which is using Internet protocol is created for the purpose of this paper. The protocol works on the application, presentation and session layers according to the OSI model. Communication between participants in unsafe medium such as internet is encrypted using symmetric encryption after exchange of symetric key using asymetric encryption. Some of the localisation methods to detect order of cars on the road are explained for the purpose of this paper. In addition to the development of the protocol, the Linux platform on which the system is running has been developed, and some of the methods for ensuring the integrity of the platform and the system are explained.
