The main objective of this work was to create and simulate a computer model of the Plomin 2 thermal power plant using Ebsilon Professional software. For a thermal power plant with a rated electrical output of 217 MWel with an intermediate superheater consisting of a high pressure, medium pressure and low pressure turbine and containing in its composition an open and a total of six regenerative high and low pressure water heaters, it was necessary to perform the calculation of the heat balance of the power plant and then compare the parameter values obtained by analytical calculation with the values obtained by computer simulation. The amounts of steam in each subtraction is the main difference between the compared values, which consequently affects the different overall effective efficiency of the power plant. The simulations were performed in the computer software for different loads to determine the cost efficiency of operating the thermal power plant at less than the maximum load. Energy and exergy analyzes were also carried out as part of this work. The most valuable result is the potential for improvement of individual parts of the plant, which opens up the possibility of better utilization of processes in a system from the point of view of cost efficiency.
