This final paper will analyze film's costume design in the period from 1930 to 1950 and will describe the work of the most influential costume designers and fashion designers who contributed with fashion in film, such as Edith Head, Adrian Adolph Greenberg, Orry-Kelly, Walter Plunkett in the field of costumography and Christian Dior, Elsa Schiaparelli, Madeleine Vionnet and others in the world of fashion design. Costumes will also be analyzed in the most famous film classics of the period such as ''The Wizard of Oz'', ''Gone with the Wind'', ''The Women'', ''Casablanca'' exc. and in what way costumes had emphasized its luxury and beauty. It will depict the way this contribution was different in relation to fashion design, how the costumography of the film influenced the fashion market and vice versa. Also it will be described the fashion and it's trends od the period, how did the fashion and film supplemented each other and the importance they had for the audience. The aim of this paper is to point out the important role of the film industry in fashion trends of the first half of the 20th century.
