The aim of the thesis was to examine which services and activities associations offer to the parents, how often parents use professional services, and how many parents of pre-school children use it, and are these services used by parents outside the City of Zagreb, from places Dugo Selo and Rugvica. In the first part of the thesis was given a review of the literature, while the second part describes the research, where in order to check research questions, the method that was used were semi-structured interviews. The sample was purposive and included three associations headquartered in the City of Zagreb and five mothers from the area of Dugo Selo and Rugvica. The research has shown that the associations have been working for more than 10 years. Their work involves different groups, starting with pregnant women, parents of adolescents, and with children themselves. Activities are various, depending on the needs of parents. Mostly, they make efforts to be available for parents outside of Zagreb, whereby many of them are obstructed by limitation of financial resources. The work is funded by donations of citizens, sponsors, but also through applications announced by ministries and the European Union. Most users of their programs come from the City of Zagreb, but they also have users from other divisions of Croatia. One of the associations did not have users from Dugo Selo and Rugvica, while other two reported they had a few users from that area. As far as parents are concerned, despite the many years of work of associations and their various ways of promoting, parents in Dugo Selo and Rugvica are not familiar with their business, they are skeptical when experts are mentioned and do not think they need their help. The idea of training is appealing, but they are worried about the price and time needed. The challenges they come across are different, but they are most concerned about household finances, the reason why one of the parents is forced to work all day. This is what they mostly resent the system, because they think with higher fees they could afford more time spending with their children, and better quality of upbringing.
