Sport is a very important part of a human life. It affects the development of psychophysical and cognitive abilities and at an earlier age it has educational role. In primary school based on the curriculum, following sports are being introduced: football, handball, basketball and volleyball. In the early stages, the students perform the pre-exercises they need, to learn certain techniques later. The first volleyball technique that students are learning in the fourth grade is the overhand pass. In the next four grades, they learn forearm pass, service, service reception, the smash, mini volleyball and attack from the jump-off by one hand. The role of Physical Education teachers is very important in the learning process because its work depends on his education and knowledge of the physiological, cognitive and psychosocial factors of a student. Also, parents, person who has the custody of a child, influence their relationship with the sport. In higher grades of primary school due to the puberty phase pupils are in, the emergence of opposing authority and disrespect of the rules may arise. The paper discusses the correlation between the pupils Physical Education grade and their love for sport. The student's knowledge of volleyball rules and their interest in volleyball compared to other sports was also tested. The survey includes students of one primary school (N = 133). It was conducted in the fourth, sixth and eighth grade. Collected and analyzed research data confirmed all the hypotheses that were set up. Boys mostly like to play handball and football while girls prefer to play volleyball. Older students and those who like volleyball more than other sports know better volleyball rules. Pupils who have a higher grade in Physical Education love playing sports.
