Subject of this paperwork is Development of the adaptive skills among the children with the Down-syndrome. Down syndrome is considered to be one of the most common genetic disorders. It is just a cromosomal disorder which appears because of the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21. Instead of having 2, people with this disorder have 3 chromosome 21, known as trisomy 21. The main goal of this paperwork is to analyse existing knoweledge on this genetic disorder and correlation between its following issues that people with the Down-syndrome have. Also, it will be disscused about developmental features with specific reference on their physical, mental, socio-emotional and cognitive development. Children with the Down-syndrome often have many health issues following and those issues need to be brought down to their minimum as much as possible by interventing on time. Adaptive behaviour is defined as conceptual, social and practical skills combined altogether that a person has learned with purpose to function in everyday life and that is why they need to start develop at a very young age. Children with the Down-syndrome based on international and national law regulations have every right on appropriate forms of education and continuous health care. In this paperwork developmental features among children with the Down-syndrome are analysed and argumented as long as their efficiency in gaining adaptive skills with the individualized support from their families, peers and proffesional services.
