The polygon obstacle is a organisational form of work that is applicable in almost all conditions, with all age categories and levels of motor skills and abilities. It can be used to develop and improve motor skills. The polygon obstacle has multilateral effect on biopsychosocial development and anthropological status of preschoolers. It is applied in physical education to improve motoric knowledge and raise the level of motor skills. For the purpose of this paper research was carried out on a sample of 30 pre-school children of one kindergarten in Zagreb, at the age of 5 to 6.5 years. They had to overcome two different obstacle courses. The content of one and the other polygon was well-learned before measurements. The aim of the study was to determine the impact of two differently made polygons. The obtained results show that there is a significant difference in initial measurement and pulse measurement at the end, on both polygons in all three measurement rounds. Significant statistical difference was spotted on the coordination polygon obstacle, when measuring the time between the first and the third round of measurements, as well as the polygon obstacle based on the motoric knowledge, what can be explained by additional training. By comparing the time required to master the coordination polygon obstacle and motoric knowledge – based polygon obstacle, a statistically significant difference was spotted in all three rounds of measurements. They needed less time to master the coordination-base polygon obstacle as expected, because on the other polygon they needed to move the ball in different ways, which slow them down if the ball rolls away. We can say that the polygon obstacle proved to be an excellent form of work that we can apply in various situations, to develop the necessary skills and knowledge.
