This thesis examines the administrative and educational frameworks governing the conservation-restoration profession in the Republic of Croatia. The first part of the paper examines regulations and laws that place the profession within the legal framework. The first of them is the Law on the Protection and Preservation of Cultural Property, which prescribes all actions related to the sale, circulation, protection and preservation, supervision of cultural property. Followed by the Regulation on professional titles for carrying out work on the protection and preservation of cultural assets and the conditions and methods of their acquisition, which prescribes who has the right to work on the protection and preservation of cultural assets. After that, the paper examines the Rulebook on the conditions, method and procedure of keeping and using documentation materials, which prescribes the methods of preservation and use of documentation materials created during conservation-restoration works, the Rulebook on conditions for obtaining permission to carry out work on the protection and preservation of cultural property, which governs and prescribes the conditions necessary for obtaining permission to work on cultural property, and the Rulebook on documentation for issuing prior approval for works on cultural property, which prescribes the necessary documentation. In addition to regulations and laws, this part also deals with the Croatian Restoration Institute and the Croatian Restoration Society, copyright contracts and work contracts, as well as the protection system and statistics related to the conservationrestoration profession. The second part deals with the education of new experts in the field of conservation-restoration, while the third part presents the conservation-restoration of Ivo Dulčić's watercolor "View of Dubrovnik".
