In this paper the consequences of tourism development in Croatia are analyzed, the internal structure of tourism and the country's tourism policy. People always traveled, and the journey led them to the existential need to survive, biological and economic offerings. Tourism is part of socioeconomic phenomena that cause many changes where it is taking place. Tourism development can upgrade, improve and initiate faster development of certain activities within it. The level of tourism development follows the general level of development of the environment in which it is taking place. Croatia is one of the most important tourist destinations in the Mediterranean and is more and more famous all over the world and has a long tourist tradition and great development potential. Malta as well as Croatia can boast of a long tourist tradition. The development of tourism in both countries has been influenced by geographic position with regard to the emitive tourism markets, natural factors and attractive natural resources and unique historical cultural heritage. In this paper the organizational structure and tourism development policy of the Republic of Croatia and Malta will be compared.
