Today's electrical networks are more complex than 50 years ago, and thus increased the need for regulation and complexity of regulation. The main requirement expected from the electricity system is power quality. This primarily implies stable voltage and network frequency, and then a number of other parameters that affect the quality of the network, that are described in this work. The aim of this work is to explain how to maintain power quality by regulating, adhering to network grid codes and standards. Regulation is mainly done by automatic regulators that regulate the voltage by changing the transmission ratio of the transformer, by changing the amount of reactive power in the system and by increasing or reducing the power generation. The key factor influencing the voltage is the generation and consumption of energy, so it is essential to monitor consumer consumption in real time to make the regulation as efficient as necessary. By simulating the power load flows over the test network model in the NEPLAN program, various scenarios of network conditions and solutions related to voltage regulation are presented.
