Sažetak (engleski) | The thesis consists of two parts. The first part of the paper deals with the theory of Lean production and 6S method. Lean production is presented through its definition, features and characteristics. The differences between traditional company and Lean company are listed through several elements of company. By the form of a House of Lean there is shown a useful tool that helps in understanding the order in which Lean production should be implemented. The House of Lean consist of foundations, pillars and a roof which consist of methodologies and tools used to improve production. The paper focuses on the 6S methodology, which according to the House of Lean, along with standardization and Kaizen, forms the foundation of the house and is one of the initial tools used in the transformation to a Lean management system. 6S is a method of organizing workspace fist implemented in Japan, specifically Toyota, and initially consisted of five phases: sort, set in order, shine, standardize ans sustain. It later expanded, in the United States, to the sixth phase which is called safety. Next, the paper describes all six steps of imlementation. Also, there are given answers to the questions as why implement 6S, where to start with the implementation and finally there are given recommendations for sucessful implementation of the 6S method. There are also three examples of foreign companies that have implemented 6S in form of Toyota, Intel and Nike.
The second part of the paper deals with the implementation of the 6S method in the company LPT Prelog. LPT is company stationed in Croatian region Međimurje, whose production is divided into two main production segments: manufacture of wire and wire cores for mattresses and manufacture of machinery, equipment and parts. The 6S method was implemented in the second production segment. Implementation was carried out through guidelines that the company received from its USA headquarters. First was introduced the implementation team, and then are presented, through pictures, tables and forms, the six steps of implementing 6S. In additon, there is shown a way of presenting the results of the implementation of 6S and the key benefits that implementation brought to the company. |
