When creating any printed product, using any printing technique, the most important thing to begin with is to prepare the design well. Because if there is no proper design preparation, the product, regardless of the quality of the printing press, will most likely be bad. Gravure printing is one of the most competent printing techniques today. We can see this in this paper, which presents the inventors and other history of gravure printing. Also, the paper lists the colors that are used in gravure printing machines, and the material that is suitable for use in gravure printing. Some of the best gravure printing machines today are mentioned, and a comparison of three machines from different manufacturers is made. The printing form in gravure printing is a steel cylinder consisting of several basic layers and a final layer called the Ballard mantle. The paper describes four types and procedures for engraving cylinders, and mentions the large gravure printing companies that work in the Republic of Croatia and the wider region. Finally, through ten steps (workflow), from creating a design to printing, the entire process of making product packaging in gravure printing is described, in this case it is a bag for chips, and some of the most common mistakes that occur when printing in gravure printing are mentioned.
