Active listening is one of the basic social skills and its primary goal is to understand the interlocudor. However, for a person to master this skill, they first have to develop all other social skills, including verbal and non-verbal communication, self – respect and emphaty. After that, the person is prepared to listen actively, which at the same time enables him or her to resolve conflicts in a constructive way and also to tackle problems in general. Given the lack of the research and workshops carried out in kindergardens, regarding active listening and the above mentioned social skills, a five – days workshop with preschool children was conducted. A series of games and exercises were organized every day in order to display children's social skills and how they develop them. The workshop was successfully realized and the results were positive, which leads to the conclusion that it is possible to influence active listening and to better interpersonal relationships.
