The topic of the final paper is analysis of cash loans in Croatian banks. The first part of the final paper is theoretical, and the second is practical. The theoretical part contains explanations about the development of banking in the world and in Croatia throughout history, about the creation of the first banks and the development of banking business. The terms banking and banking operations are defined in detail and how they are divided according to the principles of functionality and maturity and balance-analytical features. The concepts of banks and types of banks are covered depending on the function they perform. The term loan is defined in detail and the types of loans and loan repayment models are explained. Negotiating a loan is sometimes not an easy task, given that each bank has both a similar and a different principle of providing this service. Therefore, in the practical part of the work, cash loans in five selected Croatian banks were analyzed, namely Privredna banka Zagreb d.d., Zagrebačka banka d.d., Hrvatska poštanska banka d.d., Raiffeisen banka d.d. and OTP bank d.d. The practical part of the final paper ends with a representative copy of the loan repayment, where the elements of the loan are used, i.e. loan amount, repayment term, interest rate, effective interest rate (EKS), account management, interest, monthly annuity and total repayment amount
