Kulturspezifische Begriffe, die durch verschiedene geschichtliche, soziale und kulturelle Gegebenheiten bedingt sind, stellen ein besonderes Problem in der Übersetzungspraxis dar. In dieser Diplomarbeit werden die kulturspezifischen Begriffe und die Übersetzungsverfahren in den Fällen der Nulläquivalenz dargestellt. Es wird analysiert, welche Übersetzungsverfahren in den kulturspezifischen Wörterbucheinträgen der zweisprachigen deutsch-kroatischen Wörterbücher verwendet werden. Das Ziel der Analyse ist festzustellen, ob die kroatischen Übersetzungen der nulläquivalenten Stichwörter mit einer angemessenen Bedeutungswiedergabe der kulturspezifischen Begriffe resultieren. Die Analyse hat gezeigt, dass bei der Übersetzung kulturspezifischer Begriffe die Übersetzungsverfahren Zitatwort mit und ohne erläuternde Glosse, Wort-für-Wort Übersetzung mit und ohne erläuternde Glosse, annähernde Übersetzung oder Analogon und die Kombination der Übersetzungsverfahren verwendet werden. Die kroatischen Übersetzungen in den analysierten Lemmata zeigen, dass die verwendeten Übersetzungsverfahren oft zu Infomationsverlusten führen. Die Wörterbuchbenutzer sind häufig darauf angewiesen, in den Fachlexika der jeweiligen Sprache oder Enzyklopädien nach den entsprechenden Ausdrücken zu suchen.

Culture specific terms, which are the result of different historical, social and cultural circumstances, represent a particular problem in translation. This thesis presents the culture specific terms and the translation procedures in cases of zero equivalence. It reviewed which translation procedures are used for the culture specific dictionary entries in the bilingual German-Croatian dictionaries. The aim of the analysis is to determine whether the used translation procedures for the zero equivalent words result in an adequate or suitable translation of the culture-specific terms. The analysis showed that in the translation of culture specific words, following procedures were used: borrowing with or without explanatory notes, word for word translation, cultural equivalent and combination of translation procedures. The given Croatian translations often lead to the loss of information. The dictionary users are therefore referred to using other lexicographical sources such as encyclopaedias to find the meanings of the words.
