Acne is a complex disease affecting the sebaceous unit and is primarily seen in adolescents. Acne is induced by numerous factors such as genetics, hormones, skin lipids, keratinization disorders, bacteria, and stress. In the clinical presentation, a polymorphic image with inflammatory lesions such as closed and open comedones, papules, pustules, and atrophic or hypertrophic scars is seen as a culprit of inflammatory changes. Acne changes physical appearance and significantly affects the self-confidence and psychological state of the adolescent's sensitive period of life. Acne treatment is an individual and time-consuming process. It consists of topical and systemic therapies. Topical therapy includes keratolytics, antimicrobial preparations, retinoids, chemical peelings and mechanical extractions. Systemic therapy includes antibiotic therapy and retinoids. Mesotherapy, plateletrichplasma, platelet rich fibrin, hyaluronic acid fillers and collagen biostimulators are used in scarring therapy.
