The aim of this study was to examine children's awareness of a healthier diet and the acceptability of green foods in the diet of young school children. The study involved 50 children (60% girls and 40% boys). The measurement instrument used in this study was a survey. The survey questionnaire consists of four groups of questions and contains a total of three questions related to personal data about the respondent (grade, gender, age) and thirteen questions related to healthy foods with an emphasis on green fruits and vegetables. At the end of the questionnaire, students were asked a closed-ended question where they choose the perfect meal to their liking. According to the results of the survey, it can be concluded that children are mostly aware of the importance of green fruits and vegetables. Through answers to questions about their habits, preferences and the importance of green foods, the answers obtained are satisfactory, we can say even above expectations. Namely, unhealthy foods such as sweets and fast food are not their primary, in fact they are secondary and sporadic in their diet. This group of children is obviously well educated in the families themselves, in kindergarten and at school, which is a good signpost for other children as well.
