The aim of this work is to make an overview of all five cities of Vukovar-Srijem County (hereinafter: VSŽ) and to come to the conclusion of how and to what extent these cities have progressed over the years. First, it will be about the Vukovar-Srijem County itself, and each of the five cities will be analyzed in alphabetical order. The towns of Vukovar-Srijem County are Ilok, Otok, Vinkovci, Vukovar and Županja. In reviews of cities, as already mentioned, the focus is on their development. After the basic information, there is an overview of their history, which is very important for some of these cities and has influenced their status, but it is also the first thought about them. After that, an overview of public and cultural institutions is presented, and emphasis is placed on those that are significant for a certain city. The peculiarities of each city are presented, the rich tradition is emphasized and their possibilities for development are commented on. The movement of the population over the last decades is also analyzed, and it will reveal that there is a problem of depopulation in the cities of VSŽ. By comparing the available data, it will be best to see how and how developed some cities of VSŽ are. In the conclusion of the work, all the data about these cities are summarized and a final thought is reached on whether there is room for their progress and in what way.
