The research was conducted during July and August 2023 in Nova Pisanica at the Marija Dent Family Farm. High-quality hay is one of the cheaper animal feeds and is necessary in the composition of a complete meal for ruminants, especially in the winter period of the year when there is no fresh feed. Agrotechnical operations in the production of hay consist of mowing, turning, raking, pressing and storing hay. Chronometric monitoring of agrotechnical operations during mowing and hay drying on the land of the Marija Dent Family Farm provided data for calculating the work performance on plots of different sizes and shapes. In the case of mowing, it was determined that there are smaller losses of time in work on a plot of regular shape compared to an irregular plot, i.e. a higher coefficient of utilization of working time and actual work performance were determined. The same was established in the case of turning, raking and pressing. When transporting hay, no differences were found in relation to the shape and size of the plots. The Marija Dent Family Farm is supplied with enough hay needed to feed livestock, mostly sheep that are farmed organically. Surplus hay is sold, thus generating significant additional income. Some costs in the production of hay are highlighted, such as fuel, depreciation, consumables, etc. These costs are covered by the income from the sale of surplus baled hay. The research confirmed the hypotheses that the size and shape of the plot affect the efficiency of hay machinery and that the capacities of the machines used for mowing and hay drying are in accordance with the needs of the researched farm.
